Rural Housing Rental

In 2009, Conklin saw six 2 and 4 bedroom new homes put in place in Spruce Drive which expanded Conklin’s pool of affordable housing, Spruce Drive together with the communities of Pine Lane and Poplar Crescent have improved the quality of life for the 21 local families living in these communities.

Janvier also saw eight new homes put in place in 2009 which is in addition to the four log homes built by a local log home builder.     

In Fort Chipewyan WBHDC has six single family homes rented to local residents under the community housing program. Units have undergone refurbishing and upgrading in order to meet WBHDC standards.

All of these homes are available to rent through our rural housing program. In some cases, the homes can be purchased thanks to a special affordable mortgage repayment program unique to WBHDC. It is an exciting opportunity for families committed to achieving their home ownership goals.
