WBHDC provides several different types of rental accommodations in the Wood Buffalo region, including affordable GAP rental housing in Fort McMurray and four rural hamlets, affordable GAP housing specifically targeted to public sector employees, social housing for the especially needy, and a variety of subsidized accommodations for independent living seniors, or seniors whose needs can be met by a supportive living facility.
All these rental accommodations are operated on a cost-recovery or less basis, which, combined with other financial supports, enables those who need safe, stable housing in one of Canada’s most expensive real estate markets to find suitable housing that is appropriate to their financial circumstances.
Available rental accommodations include studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and three- and four-bedroom townhouses. Several one- and two-bedroom apartments are available for immediate occupancy.
WBHDC does not allow pets in any of its buildings except Meadow Creek Village Creekside and Delta townhouses, Prospect View and Stony Mountain Plaza.
