Move in procedures

Before you can move into your unit, you must have signed your lease, paid your first month’s rent and security deposit, and provided a copy of your household contents insurance to WBHDC.

If your lease begins on the first of the month, you may move in up to five working days before the first without additional charges being levied, as long as the unit is ready to be occupied and does not require any further cleaning or repairs. The Property Administrator’s discretion in this matter is final.

Your Property Administrator will arrange an appointment to do a check-in condition inspection with you.  You will go through the unit together and note the condition of the unit on the Condition Report, which is signed by both you and the Property Administrator and kept on file for the duration of your tenancy.

It is very important that you note any required cleaning and/or repairs to your unit and have them written into the Condition Report.  If cleaning and repairs are needed but not recorded, you could be held financially responsible for these items either during your tenancy or when you vacate the unit.

If you do not agree with the check-in Condition Report as completed by the Property Administrator, you must notify the Property Administration Office in writing within five (5) days.

You will receive the keys to your unit and mailbox when you have completed your check-in with the Property Administrator. The Property Administrator will also assign a parking stall at the completion of the check-in appointment.
